On December 1, 2017, we celebrated World AIDS Day in Gallapo, Babati. In partnership with the Babati District Council, we organized a successful event with free HIV testing, education, guest speakers, and lots of music and dancing. We tested 268 people for HIV.
The “Mwenge wa Uhuru” or “Freedom Torch” travels to all districts in Tanzania and to a good number of selected villages every year to open up developmental projects. On September 21st, 2017, Same district warmly welcomed the torch. In collaboration with the Same District Council, Thrive Afya Tanzania tested 380 people for HIV.
On September 11, 2017, we celebrated the arrival of the Mwenge wa Uhuru or “Freedom Torch” in Magugu, Babati. In partnership with the Babati District Council, we offered free and rapid HIV testing. After testing all day and all night, we are happy to announce that we tested a total of 664 people!
